Highland Meadows is a 107-acre, 435-lot single-family subdivision owned by Meritage Homes and is in Kaufman, TX. Manhard completed a wide variety of services for this client, including, but not limited to, feasibility work, preliminary engineering design, preliminary and final platting, land planning and concept planning, stormwater and detention design, TXDOT roadway permitting, construction staking, construction assistance, easement coordination, and final engineering design.
Throughout the project, Manhard encountered several interesting challenges and hurdles that required proactive solutions. Earthwork balancing was tedious due to a flat site and wide floodplain, and it required trial and error to achieve a balanced site.
Despite Phase 1 of the project facing its challenges during the design phase, ongoing construction has continued to run smoothly so far. The Manhard team was able to learn from these design challenges and proactively apply them to Phase 2, meeting every deliverable deadline set by the client. Thanks to open communication, hard work, and steadfast commitment to Manhard’s core principles, the final deliverables have been met with both client and city satisfaction, and we have continued to win new work with this client.
