Manhard Consulting was retained to provide professional services for this nine-story, 177,940 sf, 200-unit residential building with 10,000 sf of ground-floor retail space development in Chicago. Manhard provided surveying, design and plan preparation, permitting assistance with multiple departments at the city of Chicago and construction administration.
Manhard assessed multiple options for stormwater storage and determined the best solution to be filling an existing building basement with stone to provide volume control and detention storage. Manhard’s survey team provided an interior scan of the basement in order to assess suitability for repurposing. Our survey team also provided weekly construction monitoring services to help the client assess movement of adjacent infrastructure during construction.
The basement detention solution saved the client an estimated $250,000.
