Manhard provided surveying, design, permitting, bidding, and construction observation services for the installation of 2.4 Miles of 16” Water Transmission Main in Volo, IL.

The work includes jack and auger of a 30” steel casing beneath US Route 120 and Fish Lake Road, horizontal directional drilling under wetlands and forested areas, and right of way restoration. The project involved coordination with several stakeholders, both public and private, that all possessed significant infrastructure that would be affected by the improvements proposed. The project was phased and included both Preliminary Design and Final Engineering. Tasks involved data gathering, survey, preliminary design, coordination with the major stakeholders including but not limited to IDOT, IEPA, Lake County Forrest Preserve, Lake County Public Works, North Shore Gas, Grant Township, ComEd, and the Village.

Construction was substantially completed in December of 2023 and under budget by $6K.
